Self Portraits
This is one in a series of self-portraits that I painted with gloved fingers. This allows me to not only see what I paint, but to also involve the sense of touch, experiencing in paint that textural element so important in sculpture. Even when painting with a brush between my fingers and the surface, I'm constantly aware of the figure as three-dimentional in space and therefore, I imagine that the brush or my fingers trace the figure as it dips then protrudes.
