Fish Series
I like to visit our local asian fish market which offers rows of fish, heads intact, mouths open, some with protruding teeth and spiked fins. They are like a fantastic collection of menacing jewels. I want my canvases to shimmer with that reflected light and, at the same time, I try to suggest the solid bulk of the thing by painting in thick choppy strokes.
