The beautiful imperfections in a face are what interest me most. I once tried to paint a woman who had the perfect "hollywood" nose, large empty eyes, perfect skin and half way through I wanted to throw down my brush and scream, but for her I remained courteous. I learned then that a "pretty" face bores me. Helena has a deeper, thoughtful beauty that is only her -- no resemblance to a magazine cover.
